    West Coast

"West Coast" is a photo based on the pre-20th century painting genre of the still life, albeit. highly refined and redesigned for citizens of this new century. A series of ten other still life photographs appeared in his book, "Souvenir of Canada," published in 2002, a meditation on the meaning of 'Canadianness.' His thoughts on the matter are humorous, passionate and deadly serious. To accompany the production of 'West Coast', Artists For Kids has published a selection of simple memories written by Coupland to illuminate the various icons that appear in this photo work.

West Coast is generously sponsored by Kodak Canada Inc.
